Karrueche Tran: Going in for The-Kill & Hangs with Shekinah from Family Hustle Show

by Amir Shaw

______________________________
Today, Karrueche Tran is happy. On a recent afternoon at a plush mansion in Beverly Hills, she is dressed in all black and channeling the vintage look of her idol, Yoko Ono. She’s shooting her very first magazine cover. Between photos, Tran playfully sticks    out her tongue at the camera, laughs while participating in wild poses with her crew, and jokes about her petite frame.
It’s a celebration and Tran doesn’t mind being the life of the party. There’s a lot for her to smile about — being around good friends, preparing for the launch of her clothing line (The-Kill), and looking forward to new beginnings.
Moments like this are truly appreciated.
But when it comes to discussing the issues surrounding the ongoing saga involving herself, Rihanna and Chris Brown, she is noticeably reticent. How can you blame her?
The last 18 months have been a whirlwind for Tran. Falling in love and building a relationship is never easy for anyone. Imagine doing it as the world watches.
Somewhere in between falling in love with Chris Brown and pursuing a modeling career in California, Tran noticed her world had changed.
“I first realized there was a change [when] more people would talk about me in blogs and such,” Tran said later during her exclusive interview with rolling out. ”And the paparazzi would take pictures and follow me when I wasn’t around Chris [Brown]. I was like ‘Chris is not here, why are you following me?’ But I was constantly seeing myself on blogs and websites. It was kind of weird.”
There are challenges to dating a superstar. Particularly when your boyfriend hasn’t quite extricated himself from his previous relationship with a woman who is also a superstar. Suddenly, Tran found herself in the middle of a love triangle. It was a turbulent ride that seemed to build momentum with every move or statement made by the parties involved.
Cryptic tweets and Instagram posts were the first shots fired by the ”other” woman in the social media war. Rihanna’s lyrics on “Birthday Cake” (“Sweeter than a rice cake”) were interpreted by some as a direct insult to Tran. Indeed, the proverbial roller coaster was going 1,000 miles per hour and there were no brakes to stop the madness.
“It was very hard,” says Tran. “I try my best to just ignore the negativity. Which is hard for me because it’s a lot to deal with. But I try to keep a positive mind and stay strong and not put energy into it.”
Through it all, Tran’s silence spoke volumes.
But regardless of whether she desired to stay above the fray, it was nearly impossible with her life being amplified by pop culture media. Everyone had something to say and certain aspects were misconstrued.
“The most challenging part about the attention was the negativity and the misconception from some people,” Tran says. “People only see you in blogs and they think they know everything about your life. There are things that go public and everything that comes out is not the truth.”
While the media and overzealous fans were busy sharing their feelings on the situation, Tran discovered her own truth.
Being in love and dealing with it from a dysfunctional place will cause many to take a step back and re-evaluate themselves.
Tran viewed the erratic nature of the relationship as a time for self-discovery.
“I’ve learned to find happiness within myself,” she says. “I’ve also built a strong core. The past year was a big growing up process for me. I’m not saying I was immature before, but the past year, my eyes were opened to a lot of things.”
One part of Tran’s personal growth is stepping out and cultivating her own brand. In 2013, she will debut her clothing line, The-Kill.
“Chris [Brown] started his fashion line and wanted to start his women’s line,” she says. “He asked me to be the head of the line. I brought along Ugo Mozie and MiMi Gazelle as my creative team.”
The clothing line was inspired in part by La Roux’s 2009 hit, “In for the Kill.” While listening to the song on repeat, it eventually stuck in Tran’s head and she came up with the name, The-Kill.
Tran believes it will allow her to express her creativity and open doors for other worthwhile opportunities.
“I think the name itself will stand out,” she says of the clothing line. “Once people see the collection, they will understand our vision. It’s a unisex line and it’s only black and white. We aren’t copying any other lines or brands. We are just combining our thoughts and creativity and putting it all into this line.”
Tran is poised to not let her life be defined by her topsy-turvy relationship with Brown, unrelenting gossip, or the negativity that plagued her in 2012. This is a new year and new opportunity to build on her notoriety and turn it into a positive.
“Honestly, all I want is happiness,” Tran admits. “There was a lot of dysfunction and negativity. I just want to be happy. I have so much fun and I’m a better person when I’m happy. That’s all I want in 2013. Everything else will fall in place.”
Some will hate on Tran simply because they are fans of Rihanna. Others will denigrate her because they believe she didn’t earn her popularity by cultivating a specific talent. But regardless of your opinion of her, you can relate to her journey in some way. We’ve all touched love and experienced it in its most magnificent form. On the flip side, we’ve been hurt by it and clueless about how to deal with the pain. Despite what occurred, Tran never lost her cool and always continued to smile. There’s a lesson in Tran’s grace under fire that people can apply to their own lives.
“I hope people can learn from my story,” Tran says. “I want to be remembered as someone who remained positive through such a negative situation. Regardless of what you’re put through or what is going on in your life, keep a positive spirit. That will help you get through it.” –Amir Shaw

128GB iPad Could Be In The Works

128GB iPad Could Be In The Works
Some are speculating that Apple might release a 128GB iPad model this year.
As previously reported, a complete redesign is expected to grace the iPad 5, which is expected to be launched in October. Areport from iLounge claims to have seen a “supposedly accurate” model of the iPad 5, saying it will be smaller than past (non-mini) models.
Separately, developers have discovered a reference in to 128GB iOS devices in the code in a beta of iOS 6.1. 9to5Mac reports:
Following the latest beta release of the upcoming iOS 6.1 iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch operating system, developers have begun tearing away at the software to see what secrets it may hold about the future of Apple’s devices. @iNeal made the discovery that iOS 6.1 beta 5 holds a reference to compatibility with 128GB iOS devices. Jeff Benjamin dug up the code that @iNeal is referring to, and he has provided screenshots of the evidence. He notes that iOS 6.0 does not include the “128″ system partition code.
Update: We understand that this 128GB code is also found in iOS 6.1 beta 3, which was released in early December.
Still, this may not mean that we’ll be seeing the 128GB model this year. ZDNet’s Adrian Kingsley-Hughes is particularly skeptical.
Apple released iOS 6.1 today for iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches, bringing LTE capabilities to more carriers.

Juelz Santana Sentenced To Two Years Probation For Threatening Neighbor

Juelz Santana Sentenced To Two Years Probation For Threatening Neighbor
Juelz Santana got sentenced to two years probation after copping a plea deal.
Rapper Juelz Santana has been sentenced to two years probation for threatening his neighbor.
According to Cliff View Pilot, his neighbor, whose name has not been released, initially intervened when Santana was beating his girlfriend and phoned the police in Englewood, New Jersey. He claims that Santana has since "threatened me with death" and was going to "kill me," causing "problems in my marriage [and] my personal life. ... I had to move out of fear. I pay more rent now. I've been having problems with my wife."
The Dipset member, who appeared in court yesterday and said nothing to the judge, dodged a prison sentence by entering a plea deal that "substantially" reduced possible penalties. The plea deal stemmed from three charges, two of which involve assaults. "One is an allegation against his girlfriend, the mother of his children," said Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Jessica Gomperts. "The second was an innocent bystander who intervened when [Santana] assaulted her."
Santana only pleaded guilty to a single third-degree count of threatening the neighbor, who Gomberts says was "terrorized." The rapper was allowed to keep his driver's license because he needs it for work. “Probation would be a positive factor for the defendant,” said Superior Court Judge James Guida, “and incarceration an excessive hardship.”
Juelz, who recently dropped his God Will'n mixtape, isn't in the clear just yet. He is still facing charges stemming from a police raid on his "Santana's World" studios in Bergenfield two years ago, when cops found two loaded 9mm handguns, boxes of ammunitions and 17 dime bags of marijuana. He was also arrested for making terrorist threats and disorderly conduct in November 2011.

Chris Brown & Frank Ocean Fight, Police Arrive On The Scene

Chris Brown & Frank Ocean Fight, Police Arrive On The Scene

According to a report, Frank Ocean and Chris Brown were involved in an altercation on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
A fight reportedly broke out between Frank Ocean and Chris Brown in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The brawl was originally reported by TMZ, with reports claiming that Ocean initiated the altercation. However, Ocean later shared his take on the events, saying he was "jumped."
The initial reports stated that Ocean and friends stopped Chris Brown from leaving the Westlake Studio parking lot. According to TMZ's source, Ocean said, "This is my studio. This is my parking spot."
The source also claimed that Chris Brown attempted to shake Ocean's hand but that Ocean and friends attacked Brown. The source shared that Ocean confronted Brown but that Brown shoved him away, leading to a fight between the two singers before police arrived on the scene.
Ocean later shared his own version of the altercation on Twitter, saying he was "jumped" and that he wished Everest, his friend and the executive producer behind Channel Orange, was there.
Bad blood between Brown and Ocean stems from a past filled with anomisty from both parties. The two were at odds when Chris Brown compared Ocean to James Fauntleroy and Kevin Cossum. Ocean then compared Brown to Sisqo and Ike Turner. While they seemed to move forward from there, the two were linked in a feud again when Brown made comments regarding Ocean's sexuality.

Did Rick Ross Just Crash His Rolls-Royce In Fort Lauderdale After Getting Shot At?

This much, at least, is clear: Around 5 a.m. this morning, someone opened fire on a Rolls -Royce on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. More than a dozen shots were fired, and the Rolls ended up careening into the front of a restaurant.

Now for the real question: Was Rick Ross in the car? Witnesses at the scene tell the Miami Herald that the Bawse was indeed inside.

The gunfire and crash both happened outside the Floridian diner; police have found more than a dozen casings, and several bullets hit the car.

The Rolls ended up crashing into the front of the diner. Police say no one was injured in either the shooting or the crash.

But witnesses inside the Floridian say it was Ross who was the target; the manager tells WSVN that a "famous rapper" was seen getting inside the car. The Herald says that rapper is Ross.

Police aren't saying either way so far. We'll update the post when we learn more.

NICE: What's the point in wearing anything? Rihanna hits the club in a COMPLETELY see-through dress

By Sarah Bull

She's no stranger to courting controversy with her outfits.
But on Thursday night Rihanna took things to a whole new level as she arrived at Eden nightclub in Hollywood wearing a completely see-through dress.
The 24-year-old singer went bra-less for the night out, with the sheer fabric of her ensemble showing her skimpy black underwear beneath.

Rihanna let her incredible figure take centre stage with her outfit choice, keeping her make-up simple with just a slick of red lipstick, and wearing her hair down and to the side.
The Diamonds singer finished off the outfit with a pair of pink and gold toe-cap heels, complete with an ankle strap.
Rihanna is enjoying some time off ahead of the start of her Diamonds world tour, which kicks off on March 8th.

The svelte star has been working hard to perfect her dance routines before things begin, and tweeted pictures of herself in the studio earlier this week.
However, Rihanna caused controversy with the shots, which showed her puffing away on a suspicious-looking cigarette during a break.

So it's hardly surprising that Girls creator Lena Dunham came forward earlier this week to accuse the star of being a bad role model for young women.

The 26-year-old actress and comedienne hit out at the singer for posting inappropriate content on her Instagram site that can be seen by her young fans.
She said: 'Fame is an amazing thing and it's a platform that you have to take seriously. Which is why sometimes, it's like. . . I used to be really into Rihanna, that pop star, and then it's like - again, I don't want to ever throw stones from my glass house - but I follow her on Instagram and I just think about how many little girls beyond what I could even comprehend are obsessed with Rihanna.
'Like, you know, she left Barbados, she's had this amazing career, she's won a Grammy. . . She's talented. And then she gets back together with Chris Brown and posts a million pictures of them smoking marijuana together on a bed. And it cracks my heart in half in a way that makes me feel like I'm 95 years old.'

Def Jam VP Of A&R Sha Money XL Responds To Trinidad James Criticism

Def Jam VP Of A&R Sha Money XL Responds To Trinidad James Criticism
Exclusive: Sha Money XL explains that a hot song is a hot song, regardless of the criticism it receives.
Trinidad James has faced his fair share of criticism for his breakout hit "All Gold Everything." But he got the last laugh, signing with Def Jam Records last month for a rumored $2 million.
Def Jam VP of A&R Sha Money XL, who helped architect G-Unit's movement back in the late '90s and early '00s, spoke exclusively with HipHopDX, discussing how some listeners have slandered James for his appearance and music. To Sha, good music transcends criticism and that it's all in a grand scheme to build a bigger movement.
"I think it’s really still about the music. Trinidad [James] created a record that everyone can say they liked," he said. "No matter how much they make fun of him and mash him up with the jokes, they like the damn record. Music is music. The formula, when you talk about mixtapes and how you put content out, you have the seed to plant. You create awareness, and you grow. That’s a formula we all see. But I think the ultimate part of the formula is that the music has gotta be dope."
Since signing with Def Jam, the Atlanta, Georgia native has released an all-star remix to "All Gold Everything" featuring T.I., Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz and most recently announced his "Don't Be S.A.F.E." tour.

Best known for roles in Coach Carter, Old School and War of the Worlds, Gonzalez explained that he's been rapping since 1998 and that he's able to function in both the music and acting spheres.
"My passion for Hip Hop, I'm from Bushwick, Brooklyn. It's the pulse of my neighborhood," he said. "It was always there, and I'm proud to say that my passion for acting was there as well. I'm blessed to have that career. I understand how difficult it is to make it as an actor and to do music is no different."
Prodigy praised the 33-year-old, stating that he's self-made and knows how to navigate the Rap world. "The fact that Realm was also in Hollywood doing his thing with movies and all of that, it only helps. A lot of people know his face. Five men charged in slaying of rapper Yung LT

Investigators say Ebony Young, also known as Evon Young, was killed in a gang-linked attack.

Investigators say Ebony Young, also known as Evon Young, was killed in a gang-linked attack.

Five men were charged Wednesday in the death of a Milwaukee rapper who went missing on New Year's Day and turned out to be the victim of a gruesome gang homicide, complaints say.
Investigators were searching for the victim's body Wednesday at an area landfill.
The missing rapper is identified in the criminal complaint as Ebony Young, a female. The victim had previously been identified as Evon Young, 22, also known as Yung LT, during the public plea for information about his whereabouts.
One of the defendants charged Wednesday told investigators he believed Young was a male, and other witnesses all referred to Young as a male. The charges, in two separate complaints, do not suggest in any way that Young's transgendered status played any role in the defendants' motivation for the attack.
According to the complaints:
Young's mother first reported Young missing on Jan. 2 after Young failed to show up at his job or a meeting with his mother and couldn't be reached. His roommate told police that Young had gone outside their house near N. 52nd St. and W. Custer Ave. about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 1, got in a car and never came back.
Young's family spread fliers about his disappearance and went on television seeking help in finding him. Two other young men also had disappeared earlier New Year's Day - downtown and in Cedarburg - after drinking with friends.
Milwaukee police detectives working several angles quickly began to put the lie to Young's roommate's story.
Young's mother had found a cellphone near where the roommate said Young had gotten in a car, and the last call made on it was Jan. 1. About a week later, she turned it over to police, who traced it to Victor Stewart and Ashanti Mcalister. Stewart was a suspect in the theft of his wife's car, an Impala like the one a witness had seen idling near Young's house the night of Jan. 1.
But Stewart's wife later admitted she had lied about the car being stolen because she was angry that Stewart took it on Jan. 1 and didn't return until about 6 a.m. Jan. 2, causing her to miss work. When he did come back, the car smelled strongly of bleach. A bottle of bleach was inside the car, and she placed it under her sink at home. Police later found Stewart's fingerprint in the car, on the bleach bottle and a piece of duct tape recovered from the basement where Young was killed.
Young's roommate, Billy R. Griffin, 26, had initially told police that Young got into a car with someone on Jan. 1 and never returned. But in the complaint, he admits that Stewart, 27, Mcalister, 19, Ron Joseph Allen, 37, and Devin Lattrez Seaberry, 23, members of a street gang, had come to his house and said Young could not be trusted. They told Griffin he would be readmitted to the gang if he killed Young.
Instead, the complaints say, the others took Young to the basement, choked Young with a chain and taped a plastic bag over Young's head while Mcalister held a gun. After Young passed out, the group beat Young with tools. Griffin said he couldn't take watching and returned upstairs but later heard the others say they wanted to make sure Young was dead, then three gunshots.
The group later cleaned his basement with bleach, he told police, rolled Young's body up in a sheet and took it to Stewart's car, then to a trash bin at 8100 N. 84th St.
When police later went to that scene, they found a chain, some burned clothing and evidence a fire had been set in the garbage container. According to one of the complaints, investigators were searching a landfill Wednesday for Young's body.
Stewart told police that the confrontation at Young's house began with an argument over whether Young had assisted someone else in burglarizing the residence. Stewart told police that Young eventually admitted that role to Griffin.
Stewart also admitted to police that he tried to get Griffin to kill Young before the group took on the task, and that after the suffocation, strangulation and beating, Mcalister shot Young three times with a .22-caliber handgun.

Later that day, Griffin said, Stewart called him and said, "The deed is done," and instructed him to tell people that Young had just left and never returned.
According to the complaints, police found eight blood samples on the walls, floor and on a bucket in Griffin's basement. Two of the samples tested positive as female blood. DNA testing later matched the blood to samples taken from Young's toothbrush, the complaints state.
Griffin, Stewart, Mcalister, Allen and Seaberry are all charged with first-degree intentional homicide, as parties to the crime.
All but Seaberry were being held at the Milwaukee County Jail. Seaberry was still being processed late Wednesday.

Portions Of J Dilla's Record Collection To Be Sold On eBay

by Roman Coope
Portions Of J Dilla's Record Collection To Be Sold On eBay

Fans can get their hands on real pieces of J Dilla crate-digging history.
Last April, a vinyl collection belonging to the late producer/emcee J Dilla was uncovered, containing approximately 8,000 records.
Now, it appears that portions of the collection are ready to be sold.
The news was announced on J-Dilla.com, where the story behind the collection was revealed:
Years ago J Dilla moved a large collection of records, personal test presses and audio master tapes into a storage until after his Detroit basement studio flooded. Shortly thereafter he moved to Los Angeles.
The storage unit was left by Dilla and taken care of by his mother, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, but attention and priorities soon shifted: Dilla became seriously ill and hospitalized, and with his mother at his side in Los Angeles during a planned two-week visited that turned into years, the unit was lost.
In Spring of 2012, the entire collection was finally recovered. The back payments and fees were paid – Ma Dukes was reunited with the contents she last saw just before leaving to L.A. to take care of Dilla.
The statement delved into the details of the sale, which will take place on eBay:
Maureen Yancey is now selling a portion of the record collection in the first of a series of weekly sales taking place on eBay.
EBAY.COM DILLA RECORD COLLECTION
Buyers receive an LP from the collection of J Dilla, with a signed, numbered certificate from Maureen Yancey stating that the record is from this personal collection.
The certificates are numbered with the plan of an online registry for Dilla fans to list their Dilla Collection LP. Buyers are welcomes to include the artist, title, and whether any tracks on the LP are known to have been sampled by Dilla. This registry is dependent on the sales of the limited amount of the collection and response from the fans.

Non Hip-Hop Rumors: Was The Sandy Hook Massacre Staged? With Actors? A Cover-up?

by illseed

Guns

OK, I am not going to talk too much about this, because it is definitely not my John Forte. So, we all know the tragic events that happened at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT. Conspiracy theorists are going CRAZY over the assertion that the situation was massaged into a cacophony of lies and misinformation. That’s right, mutha f**kas, I said cacophony! Some of the stuff, we have been saying since day one: There was more than one gunman. But, then they are talking that there is more to even that! They are saying that there are PAID ACTORS on TV and conducting interviews. In real life, there are professional crisis actors and these pe. In one video, a father of a slain CHILD is seen at a press conference laughing until he walks to a podium to speak. Other reports show that folks have almost identical twins in other parts of the nation, looking JUST like Sandy Hook victims. And, there are even others that have recently suffered one of the worst tragedies but they shed no tears. I don’t. I cannot call it, folks, because I am just a messenger of sorts.
OH, and why?

GUNPLAY said this…this is all about GUN CONTROL, conspiracy mavens say! To take away the guns and get this NWO thing poppin like popcorn. I don’t think the kids in the hood dying was going to help spark outrage at all.

So, peep this report from Current TV and then check out the videos after this and let me know what you think.
REPORT: Remarkable Resemblance Of Sandy Hook Victims And Professional Crisis Actors
Peep these crazy videos!

Dude was smiling and joking until he got to the podium. I’m not one to tell people how to grieve but damn.
This video also runs down the conspiracy theory too.
Maybe Gunplay ain’t so crazy!

Or maybe he’s so crazy, he’s going to have a drug-induced heart attack in his sleep

DEBATE: Beyonce Or Rihanna: Who Has The Hottest GQ Cover?

by AHH Staff

Beyonce_riri

Rihanna and Beyonce are the two reigning females in urban music (and beyond). Today, GQ revealed Beyonce’s new cover, a nod to the Super Bowl in which she will be performing. Just a few months ago, Rihanna held the distinction of gracing GQ’s cover and she set the internet afire as well with her penchant for nudity.

andre-3000-628
Rumors of an impending Outkast reunion have gotten louder this past week, when on January 12th, Frank Ocean released a remixed single entitled “Pink Matter” featuring guest verses from Andre 3000 and Big Boi. Fans of the former duo quickly became excited at the prospect of seeing – and hearing – the two of them back together. But those hopes were dashed with a single statement from Andre 3000, who has always been more than a little reluctant at the thought of getting back together with his old partner in rhyme.
“I never want to mislead our audience – I worried that some would think these were Outkast collaborations,” he told Spin in response to the songs release. “These songs are not Outkast collaborations.”
The message also states that Big Boi’s verse was an after thought and Dre was completely , “surprised to read about these remixes.”
For his part, Big Boi has so far kept quite on the situation, choosing instead to use his Twitter account to promote his performance, alongside Indie pop duo, Phantogram, on the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live Show’ last night.

The Beats By Dre is expanding its business to digital music service with a new program Daisy.

According to Digital Music News, the popular electronics company is looking to branch out with a new digital music service.
Beats Electronics is now preparing to launch a new digital music service called Daisy. According to Beats' CEO Jimmy Iovine and the company's newly-appointed head Ian Rogers, Daisy will offer listeners access to stream up to 12 million songs on a paid subscription basis.
"Right now, these things are all utilities. It's give me your credit card, here's 12 million songs, good luck," Iovine said. "We have an entire generation that was brought up on sound being inferior, and sound is the only conduit for emotion that we have. We've had ten very bad years in the audio industry. So we want the best possible quality, and it will have global scale. So it will be a balance of those things."
Rogers added, "We have to opportunity to create a trusted brand in music. To be honest, we'll release the product when it's ready, but we're looking at the second half of this year. I'll remain Executive Chairman and remain member of Board [at Topspin]," Rogers stated. Timbaland To Exclusively Produce Justin Timberlake's Third Album, Jay-Z Collaboration Expected

Timbaland To Exclusively Produce Justin Timberlake's Third Album, Jay-Z Collaboration Expected

In addition to collaborations with Jay-Z and Beyonce, Justin Timberlake's upcoming album will be entirely produced by Timbaland.
The last time Timbaland and Pop star/actor Justin Timberlake combined for an entire album, 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, the pair churned out six top 20 hits on their way to a Number One album which domestically sold 4 million copies. According to sources at Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, it would appear the pieces are in place to make another run at the charts.

“It means more to me than anybody else in the world,” Timberlake explained, via a promotional video for his upcoming project. “I’ve only done two albums in 10 years. That’s the way I really look at it. What does the next decade mean for me?”

Apparently it means a break of some sorts from movies and other interests. The former N*Sync member had been found in the likes of movies such as Friends With Benefits, partnering in a retooled MySpace.com and even beatboxing with Brother Ali during the six years since his last album dropped. Timberlake has reportedly already recorded with Beyonce and Jay-Z. A single with the latter was rumored to be released Thursday morning, but has been rescheduled for a release Sunday.

Cee Lo Green Says Goodie Mob's "Age Against The Machine" Is "Pretty Much Done"

Cee Lo Green Says Goodie Mob's "Age Against The Machine" Is "Pretty Much Done"
Cee Lo Green also describes the project as "progressive."
Goodie Mob has been working on its reunion album Age Against the Machine for a minute, but the project is nearing completion. During an interview with Fuse, Cee Lo Green said that the LP is in the final stages and that after they lock in a few more guest features, the record will be complete.
"I have a new album with Goodie Mob and we're looking forward to releasing it in first quarter," he said. "It's tentatively titled Age Against the Machine. We're still mixing and doing a few more guest appearances and putting the final touches on it, but yes, it's pretty much done."
As for the sound of the record, the former The Voice judge describes it as "progressive" because the group wants to expand the sound for a wider audience. "I think we've grown a great deal in the last 10 years. There's a lot more to consider. There's a broader audience and a greater aspiration to reach as many people as we can, to be as relatable, to be as real, relevant and resourceful as we can. So Age Against the Machine is symbolic of wisdom being the weapon of choice. Those rules will apply."
