John Forte Speaks On Possibility Of Fugees Reunion

John Forte speaks on why Fugees served an important function during the right moment in time.

After producer Jerry Wonda recently speculated thatFugees could reunite, John Forte is adding his opinion to the mix. During an interview with Sway in the Morning’sSway Calloway on Shade 45, Forte, who wrote and produced for The Score, weighed in on the possibility of a reunion, stating that while it’s “above my pay grade” to speculate, the group served the right purpose during the proper time.

“I’m going to make an analogy, and I don’t know if most listeners are in tune with it, but last night, I was listening to Bob Dylan and I listened to one of his older songs from that era and I was listening to one of his new albums. There are certain periods - like you said, lightning in a bottle - where we hear Sam Cooke singing, ‘A Change is Gonna Come,’ when it comes out during the time that it was needed to come out. You can get the best R&B artist or vocalist today to cover that song, and while it might be a great cover, it might not have the same poignancy and relevance to whatever the current paradigm is. Who knows? I’m not saying that a reunion will or will not happen. That’s probably above my pay grade. But what happened during that time was supposed to happen for that time.”

Birdman Reveals "Rich Gang" Film Starring Lil Wayne & YMCMB Roster

Birdman plans to put his crew on the big screen with the launch of Cash Money Films.

Birdman has revealed plans to launch the new Cash Money Films shingle this year.

During an interview with XXLMag.com, Baby said that he has a pic in the works for Omar Epps, as well as a film titled Rich Gang that will star Lil Wayne and the rest of the YMCMB roster.

"We start shooting that in the fall,” he said. “That’s the whole team, that’s like a 2012 Balla Blocking. The Rich Gang movie is about the team. Everybody is going to be the star of it, but Wayne will be the center of it. It’s about the team, everybody that’s on the label.”

Stunna wouldn't say if Rich Gang would be a documentary or scripted, but that he's going to simply encourage his artists to "be themselves." “I’m not gonna tell no nigga to go to acting school. Just be yourself. We’re excited as a brand about it. Tyga, everybody is like, ‘Stunna, let’s do a  movie.’ We got a few of them lined up and we gonna shoot them," he said.

Keyshia Cole Partners With BET For Reality Show "Keyshia Cole: Family First"

Keyshia Cole will be "at her most vulnerable" on the six-episode series, airing this fall.

Keyshia Cole has announced that she is reteaming with BET for the upcoming reality television series Keyshia Cole: Family First, which is a working title.

The six-episode series will begin airing this fall, and “allow viewers to see the singer at her most vulnerable.” DuBose Entertainment’s James DuBose will executive produce the show, as will Cole, her husband Daniel Gibson and Michele Barnwell.

Cole has previously worked with BET on the reality showKeyshia Cole: The Way It Is, which aired from July 2006 to December 2008. On the series, Cole let cameras into her life as she recorded albums and interacted with family members. 

Freddie Gibbs Hints At Possible Rick Ross Diss

Freddie Gibbs suggests that he'll be throwing shots at Rick Ross on his upcoming mixtape.

Young Jeezy and Rick Ross haven't exactly been on good terms over the past year, throwing shots at one another on records and interviews. Now, Jeezy's signeeFreddie Gibbs hints that he might step in and get involved with the feud.

During an interview with MTV.co.uk, Gangsta Gibbs said that listeners will have to wait for his Baby Faced Killa mixtape to drop to see if he calls out Rozay, but makes it clear that he'll be dissing anyone who's talked greasy about him and his crew.

"You’ll see on the [Baby Faced Killa] mixtape. I’ve been known not to bite my tongue. These guys blowing shots at people will definitely be dealt with accordingly," he said. "They’re not gonna say anything too crazy because they don’t want that real life s**t. They just wanna rap, you know? We’re not really into that, we’re gonna let them know what it’s really about. There ain’t gonna be no freestyle battle or no bulls**t like that."

In a recent interview with XXL magazine, Queens rapper Nas spoke on his appearance on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and expressed his appreciation for Minaj as an artist.

“I mean it was crazy cause Nicki is out there doing it,” Nas explained to XXL magazine. “She’s like the only female doing it. You got some new ones out here doing it—Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalea—you got them. But since we don’t hear much from Eve, Kim and Foxy these days, nobody can’t front, Nicki is representing. To be on her album, that shit was crazy.”

The rapper also went on to refer to his Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded track with Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Young Jeezy as being the “perfect record.”

On top of his work with Nicki Minaj, Nas also worked with Young Money artist Tyga for his Careless World: Rise Of The Last King track “King & Queens.” 

And when it came to Nas’ appearance on Careless World: Rise Of The Last King he says that his daughter played a large role in that decision thanks to her approval of the Young Money rapper. 

“Yeah man, you know…the youngin’ reached out,” said Nas. “He’s out there doing his thing. I asked my daughter, that’s how that works. I probably don’t listen to everybody she listen to, but I have to show her I’m not hating. The ‘Rack City’ shit was a monster. It is a monster. Tyga, he do what he do. That was fun.”

Devin The Dude Announces "Seriously Trippin" EP, "One For The Road" LP

Devin the Dude plans to drop several projects over the next few months.

Devin the Dude has announced a pair of releases slated for release over the next few months through eOne Music.

On May 22^nd, the Houston, Texas rapper will drop a six-track EP titled Seriously Trippin, which will be available on iTunes for $3.99 and is currently available for pre-order.

Additionally, the Southern rapper is gearing up for the release of his eighth solo album titled One For the Road, scheduled to drop this summer.

Devin last released his seventh album Gotta Be Me on November 2, 2010. Prior to that, he unleashed 2010’s Suite 420, which featured guest appearances from Odd Squad, Tony Mac and more.
