There’s no shortage of surprises when it comes to Kanye West’s artistry. After shutting down airwaves and timelines with his rap remedy “Theraflu” Wednesday night, West has been making headlines for his Kim Kardashian andPETA comments.
The track’s producer Hit-Boy now reveals that the lyrically-charged record was originally intended for DJ Khaled.
"I actually had sent that beat to Khaled, and Khaled gave it to 'Ye," the G.O.O.D. Music beatmaker told MTV News Thursday, speculating that it was recorded more than a week ago. "It was supposed to be for Khaled's album, and 'Ye was just like, 'This needs to be out now; this is an urgent record."
Mr. We The Best also spoke with MTV News, saying that fans can expect an even better single from the two on his upcoming LP Kiss The Ring. "I was in the studio with 'Ye, and I was like, 'Let's do something for your album, and let's do something for my album,” Khaled said. “On my end, I got this thing with 'Ye where I tell him there's no rules and there's no regulations. It's no format, and ain't nobody gonna tell us nothing on what we're gonna do.”
Although offering zero details about the project, the Miami-based DJ already knows their next collaboration will be a hit. “When we get together, we just make some amazing music.”
