Popular Atlanta DJ murdered in overnight shooting

Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5 Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5 MORROW, Ga. -
Clayton County police say a popular Atlanta DJ was shot and killed overnight at a home in Morrow.

According to authorities, 38-year-old William Fernando Barnes, or "DJ Nando," was killed in a shooting around 4:30 a.m. on Oak Street.

Barnes was a well-known DJ who frequently worked in local adult entertainment clubs like Club Onyx in Midtown and Magic City, which is located downtown.

Rapper Ludacris posted a picture of Barnes, saying "R.I.P. DJ Nando. Gone too soon."

Hurricane Dave, program director at local hip-hop station HOT 107.9, said DJ Nando was "well respected" among artists and DJ's and that he "broke a lot of records" for a number of artists in the Atlanta area.

Clayton County Police have not released any information on the incident. However, they say they are searching for suspects.
