Darlene Ortiz Explains Why She Wrote "THE DEFINITION OF DOWN: My Life with Ice T"
Darlene Ortiz had a storied relationship with Ice T. So interesting that she decided to write a book about it.
During a recent interview with HipHopDX Senior Features Writer Ural Garrett, Ortiz talked about why she decided to write THE DEFINITION OF DOWN: My Life with Ice T.
"I've always wanted to do a book because I just felt like my life was an amazing story, things were taking place," she said via a segment of today's (December 23) DX Daily. "Even how I met my ex and things that were unfolding for us both and the growth of our relationship in West Coast Hip Hop, I just always thought it was amazing how things were happening and unfolding."
Darlene Ortiz also talked about the struggle of not being able to write and publish her story until her son was old enough to read it.
"I couldn't do it any earlier 'cause our son was underage so I waited for him to mature and grow up and said, 'Okay, he can read some more of these things in the story,'" she explained. "I was like some stuff a kid couldn't handle."

Travi$ Scott & Rihanna Reportedly Leave Nightclub After Shot Rang Out



 

Ty Dolla $ign was also in attendance at the venue.

A shot was fired outside Project Los Angeles nightclub yesterday (December 23) after a few men had an altercation. Travi$ Scott, Rihanna and Ty Dolla $ign were among those inside the club at the time of the shooting, TMZ reports.
Footage of Travi$ Scott and Rihannaexiting the premise separately was captured by the site.
Five people were handcuffed, but nobody was arrested.

King Louie Reportedly Shot In The Head


The Chicago rapper was shot on the city’s South Side.

King Louie was reportedly shot in the head today (December 23), according to a tweet from Sam Charles, a writer for the Chicago Sun-Times.
"Breaking: King Louie's manager confirms he was shot in the head at 83rd and Pulaski earlier today. He's awake and talking,” Charles writes on Twitter.
The location is on the South Side of Chicago.
In October, the rapper released his 6 God Tony mixtape. The six-track project from the Chicago rapper features his remix of Drake and Future’s “Jumpman.”
In November of 2014, King L, as he’s also known, released the seven-song Soprano mixtape.

Meek Mill & Comedian Michael Blackson Trade Insults


The Ghanaian-born comedian ignited the exchange after referring to Meek Mill as “twitter fingers” in an Instagram post.
Meek Mill and comedian Michael Blackson traded insults at one another over Instagram recently.
The pair were in Philadelphia on Wednesday (December 23) attending a charity event with Bryshere Yazz Gray from FOX’s show Empire.
Blackson ignited the exchange by posting an image of the three personalities alongside an elderly gentleman with the caption, “Home. In Philly giving back to the elderly with Cookie's son and Twitter fingers.”
On Drake’s second Meek Mill diss track “Back To Back Freestyle,” the Toronto emcee calls Meek Mill “twitter fingers” in reference to the Philly rapper calling Drake out over Twitterfor allegedly not writing his own raps.
“Yeah, trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers / Yeah, you getting’ bodied by a singin’ nigga / I’m not the type of nigga that’ll type to niggas,” Drake raps on the song.
Following Blackson’s first post, Meek Mill replied saying: “We doing charity but we need to help him get some real Gucci sneaks! None of the kids knew who he wasssss!”

Mary J Blige and Lil Kim at Hot for the Holidays


Another special moment occured during the Hot For The Holidays concert presented by Footaction last night as Busta Rhymes not only brought out Mary J. Blige, but she was joined by Lil' Kim for a rare performance of their 1997 hit "I Can Love You."

Once again we rap up our annual Top Wisconsin 2015 list this is our 5th one and it was put together to honor our state artists. Now we cant please everyone so we encourage you to work harder.
