Andre 3000 Axed From Jimi Hendrix Biopic

                                             
Outkast-member Andre 3000 has popped up frequently in movies throughout the years: Idle Wild, Four Brothers, Be Cool, Revolver and Semi-Pro. He was hoping to extend his foray into the movie scene by playing Jimi Hendrix in the biopic about the talented singer however he might have to wait longer than expected.

Last year music enthusiasts were buzzing about the upcoming movie featuring Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix until delays kept happening. A few months back actress Hayley Atwell dispelled rumors about 3 Stack’s axe from the movie explaining how he was still signed on to play Hendrix saying, “Next up is possibly a Jimi Hendrix biopic — an independent film with Andre 3000 from OutKast playing Jimi Hendrix. But I don't know, really. The Atwell team is like, let's just wait and see.”

Outkast fans were all buzzing about a new album; solo LPs from both members and another film starring Andre 3000 within the same year, but all those hopes came crashing down when the Experience Hendrix Estate blocked the film from moving forward.
CEO of the Hendrix Estate and Jimi’s sister, Janie, “made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation.”

All may not be lost for a Jimi Hendrix biopic. The Hendrix Estate has revealed a possible project in the works with their approval in the future sans Andre 3000 saying, “we are active in releasing documentary material starring, so to speak, Jimi Hendrix as himself and plan to continue on this path."
