R. Kelly Released From Hospital Following Throat Surgery

The Pied-piper of R&B has something else to add to his list of troubles, but this might be more than he bargained for. R. Kelly recently made headlines when news of a possible foreclosure on his mansion surfaced since he refused to pay the mortgage on his Illinois-estate for nearly a year.

Fresh off the release of his tenth album, Love Letter, and after wrapping up his nationwide tour promoting his album, R. Kelly didn’t have any comment for the legal proceedings and everyone thought he would settle the financial debt before losing his mansion.

Unfortunately, he has something even bigger to worry about and this hurdle might affect everything, including his career. Tuesday (July 19) Kellz was complaining about soreness in his throat until the problem grew worse. That same day he was admitted into the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago where surgeons drained an abscess on one of his tonsils.

R. Kelly was released on Thursday (July 21), and now he’s taking time off to recuperate from the minor surgery. Kelly’s spokesman, Allan Mayer, said it’s unclear when the 44-year-old-crooner will feel well enough to perform again.
